Bangladeshi 168 million population will be forced to be confined wherever they are due to new pandemic (Delta Variant) closures announced.
It is reported that the country’s capital Dhaka became a city where thousands of workers are stranded as a result of closed public transportation services.
New numbers of deaths and cases
On Sunday the country bore the loss of 119 deaths, the highest number ever recorded. Whereas from several days 5000 new infection cases are seen.
Reason for a new spike
Health Officials are of the view that the recent spike in the country is because of the delta variant virus that was initially identified in neighboring country India.
Emergency services and export factories
From Thursday this south Asian country’s mass population will be under sanctions of lockdown and only emergency services and export factories will be allowed to operate.
Roads of Dhaka
Sunday’s Lockdown announcement made Dhaka an area where roads were full of daily wage workers marching towards rural homes in terrible hot weather. Offices will be shut down from Wednesday.
In mid-April, the government closed movement and trade activities when the inception of the pandemic raised deaths and infections. May month was a period of low deaths and cases. But a recent spike has emerged a new situation to face again.
Numbers of deaths and cases till date
To date 14000 deaths and more than 880000 infection cases are reported officially. But experts are saying more numbers would be there as underreporting has also been seen.
WHO is confirming that the delta variant virus has reached 85 countries. And it is spreading at more pace than it’s first kind.
