Extreme Heat Can Cause Severe Heart Problem

Extreme heat can cause a severe heart problem, study says. The burning heat record that burns much of the United States this week poses a significant risk to the heart.

Steps need to be taken to protect it, the American Heart Association said. This is especially true for the elderly and people with high blood pressure, obesity or heart disease or stroke.

Extreme Heat To Cause Heart Problem

Heat and dehydration make the heart work harder to cool down by pumping more blood. Difficulties in moving it from large organs to the bottom of the skin.

Accordingly, research has shown that when temperatures reach the temperature of 109 degrees Fahrenheit the number of deaths from heart disease could double.

And, maybe three times, and that many temperatures fluctuate in the summer, the more severe the stroke.

However,  heat-related deaths and illnesses can be prevented, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Now,  more than 600 people die of extreme heat each year.

Recommendations From Dr. Donald Lloyd-Jones

Lloyd Jones is the Professor of heart research, pediatrics and medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. He has given recommendations to protect health and heart care.

If you have heart disease or stroke, or are over 50 or overweight, it is very important to create a special heating device to protect your health, ”said AHA President Dr. Donald Lloyd-Jones.

Accordingly “don’t stop taking medication. Learn how to stay cool and talk to your doctor about any concerns,” he told the AHA press release.

Even if you are not taking heart medication, you need to be careful with the heat. “Staying hydrated is key. It’s easy to dehydrate even if you don’t think you’re thirsty.”

Thus, drink water before, during and after going out in hot weather. Don’t wait until you’re thirsty. And the best way to find out if you’re getting enough fluids is to check your urine output. And, make sure the color of your urine is pale, not dark. or sovereign. “
