France cancels joint military exercise with Mali. Recently the European super power has declared to cancel all the diplomatic relation with Mali due to military coup. The French government also says that the condition will continue until civilian rule will be reestablished.
France has been providing military assistance to Islamic terrorism in the Sahel region of Africa since 2012. Among the countries receiving military assistance from France are Mauritania, Niger, Shad and Mali. The French military has been cooperating with the local army to prevent the spread of terrorism. However, due to the military coup, the West African Union and the African Union have already severed ties with the country. The French government says that the AU always stands against Islamic terrorism in Africa. So France supports AU and warns to withdraw military from Mali if any kinds of terrorist activities will rise due to political unrest.
Military Coup in Mali
Last week, the second military coup took place in Mali. The prime minister and president of the interim government were detained. Asimi Goita came to power after resigning while in custody. Here added that, Goita is the leading person of first military coup in August 2020. Llaterhe was elected Vice President of the Interim Government. Now he leads the second military coup and become the president of Mali.

France has canceled a military exercise with the West African country, Mali, because of the second military coup in the country since last week. However, France has warned of withdrawing all troops from the country shortly after the coup. Given that such a situation will continue if the civilian rule does not return. The country’s spokesman also says that France never supports undemocratic activities as well as terrorism.
