Indian Dam In Afghanistan Is On Taliban’s Target

India’s heavily funded Salma dam is on the target of the Taliban’s rockets. On Wednesday local daily Khama press reported the incident. The Afghan Taliban fired many rockets towards the dam but none hit. Ghani government officials requested Aghan Taliban’s not to destroy national assets.

Indian Policy For Afghanistan

India always backed anti-Afghan Taliban regimes in Afghanistan. There are many infrastructure projects in the country. India mostly funded them.

Indian policy remained always skeptical. As they supported TTP and different terror groups to do their heinous activities in Pakistan. Indian spy Kalbhushan Yadav‘s confessions in Pakistani custody are proof of the facts.

Taliban’s Relations With India

Historically Afghan Taliban remained always anti-India. When they were in power from 1996 to 2001. They crushed all Indian elements in Afghanistan. There is a growing concern in India about the Taliban’s strengthening influence in the country. Afghan Taliban can join 3Ks, Kabul, Kandahar, and Kashmir.¬†

Info About Salma Dam

Salma dam is located at Chishti Sharif district of Herat province. It is the largest dam in the country. The dam provides agricultural water and electricity to a big area of the province. India completed the dam’s construction in 2016. Indian PM Modi inaugurated it.

Taliban Have Not Destroyed Dam Yet

National Water Affairs Regulatory Authorities confirmed. The Taliban have not destroyed Salma Dam yet. But it could be no more if the Afghan Taliban intended to annihilate it. Whereas the weak Ghani government is requesting fighting Taliban not to destroy national assets.

Moves Of Aghan Talibans

Afghan Taliban are playing well in this new great game. They are engaging with all stakeholders and regional powers. Talibani delegations are visiting Iran, Moscow, and Qatar for peace talks. Taliban have assured China and Russia. That they will not host any terror group which threatens their security.

Afghan Taliban are targeting Indian investments. And Indian authorities are trying to engage them in Qatar. It looks very surprising that hardcore Modi is starting negotiations with Taliban.
