New Zealand’s withdrawal Pak tour due to conspiracy

New Zealand’s withdrawal from the NZ-Pak tour is in the news currently. NZ just pull out of their tour in Pakistan due to “security issues”, just a couple of minutes before the match starts.

Yesterday, the news of New Zealand’s withdrawal from walking out of the tour circulate all around the world and the cricket fans are disheartened.

New Zealand we’re supposed to play 3 ODIs and 5 T20s in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

The toss of the first ODI was delayed by the team and then they announced their withdrawal.

The NZC Chief Executive, David White said, ” I understand that this is a blow for PCB, who has been a wonderful host, but the safety of players is of prime importance, and we believe this is the only responsible choice.”

No Authentic Reason for New Zealand’s Withdrawal

The Pakistani Interior Minister, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad recently commented on the withdrawal decision. He said that our security forces have not received any “reports” of any threat against team NZ that traveled to Pakistan.

Rasheed spoke to the reporters in Urdu after the cancellation of news, he said, “This is their entitlement, our police, security forces, and our SSG had no reports of any threat. Neither we received any.”

He also said, “The country’s security situation is excellent. We can give a full guarantee that there are no issues with the security and no threats. However, New Zealand’s PM said, ‘ although of no issue existing of a threat, but we have the information that when our teams go in the field, there will be an attack.” Therefore, they canceled the tour single-handedly.”

A “Conspiracy” led to New Zealand’s Withdrawal

Rasheed said on Friday that there’s a “Conspiracy” behind the cancellation actions of the NZ tour of Pakistan, the first in the 18years.

By responding to a question, the Minister declined to share the name of the responsible country for the irrelevant conspiracy. He named the cancellation as “an attempt to damage Pakistan’s efforts for peace in the district.”

Rasheed said Pakistan has installed commandos from SSG (Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group), several soldiers, and 4,000 police officers for the match in Rawalpindi.

He also disclosed, “we tried to convince them by offering a match without spectators, but they also denied that.”

Imran Khan Reached out to NZ’s PM

According to the minister, the government reached out to PM Imran Khan while he was attending SCO-CHS Summit in Dushanbe. The prime minister immediately contacted the NZ PM(Jacinda Ardern) tried to assure her regarding the security concerns.

She stated that there are no issues of any threat. However, the government of NZ received the conspiracy of an attack on the team whenever they step out.

Rasheed added, “It’s their decision. We had installed tight security for the team. Pakistan is the promoter of peace in the world. While the tour is just getting cancel due to a conspiracy. It’s the NZ problem and whatever they decide.”

The National Crisis Management also tried to convince them but they did not listen.

The Crucial Hours for Eng-Pak Tour

Rasheed said that the team England will make their own decision, he said while talking about the Pak-England tour. He added, “Our ministry has done all the arrangements. In Pakistan, there are no issues for security regarding cricket.”

So, The chances of England’s tour to Pakistan are decreasing sharply. England tour to Pakistan is all set to happen this October. Due to the abandonment by team NZ yesterday because of a “security issue”, the England tour is being discussed.

The ECB is confirming that they are reviewing their plans, the decision is in the next 24 to 48 hours.

England Women and Men teams are to play matches in Pakistan next month in Rawalpindi.

Assuming that the NZC and ECB both have the same security consultants, ESI Risk. If they advised regarding the tour it would be a shocking surprise if England progressed with the tour.

An ECB spokesperson said that they are aware of the withdrawal due to security concerns. We’re are incorporating with our security team to fully understand the situation.

This would be gratitude towards the Pakistani team helping out England stage cricket in the 2020 lockdown. Pakistani team did everything including stating in a bio-bubble to ensure the ECB get able to stage the series.

So, It would be a loss for both teams if the series get cancels as they are about to play in the T20 Worldcup.

The sword is still hanging over the head of Pakistani Cricket as the decision are not fully here yet. The cricket fans including the major sports personalities are devastated after this news. Everyone is wishing that Pakistan Cricket will glimpse hope for future cricket.
