Pakistan has blamed an anonymous person in India for sending threatening emails that provoked kiwis to abandon the NewZealand tour to Pakistan.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry and Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed held a joint press conference today. They revealed that the culprit sent the threatening email from India. The whole event began because of a phoney post by somebody professing to be Tehreek-I-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) assailant Ehsanullah Ehsan
Fawad said; “The email sent from an associated device in India by utilizing VPN. Hence, showing IP address location of Singapore.”
He further added; “A phoney post made under Ehsan’s name warns the New Zealand cricket board and government to abstain from sending the group to Pakistan or else they will target them.”
List of fake emails that abandoned NewZealand tour to Pakistan
It was further revealed that New Zealand opener Martin Guptill’s wife got an email threatening her husband from ID with the username Tehreek-I-Labbaik. Upon additional examinations, it was uncovered that the email was not related to any social network and just one email was sent from that specific email address.
On the day of the first match, the NewZealand team authorities received another threatening email from the ID, Hamza Afridi. The specialists tested the email, they found that it comes from a device related to India.
The threatening email reads; “Dear New Zealand Cricket, you did wrong to go to Pakistan and now see what will happen to you. Your cricket team is not going anywhere now. In every place, the bombs remain placed now, from the hotel to your flight. My men will not forgive you, they are coming to New Zealand. Pakistan Zindabad, Allah hu Akbar.”
Details regarding the Indian device
The device had 13 different IDs, practically which were all Indian names. “All IDs made by the user utilizes the names of Indian actors and celebrities. Just the name Hamza Afridi is diverse to show that this email was produced from Pakistan. The client of the specific device recognized as Omprakash Mishra is from Maharashtra.
The government of Pakistan has sent all the data related to emails to Interpol and asked for their help to help locate the accused.
ECB cancelled the tour
Following the NZ’s tour abandoning news, the next aligned tour of English Cricket was held in jeopardy. England Cricket Board stated that they will decide the fate of the tour after consulting with their security advisors.
