The current world champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili performed well in front of his fans. He won the Tbilisi Grand Slam in Georgia. Defeated the Japanese opponent, he secured a win when he performed a brilliant foot sweep. 

President Mr Giorgi Atabegashvili Georgian Judo Federation awarded the gold medal. Then, he congratulated his opponent after the performance.

Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Sports  Achievements

Lasha Shavdatuashvili had a great experience in sports life. Performed against Israeli Inbal Shemesh In 2019 in Tel Aviv Grand Prix. And, he won the silver medal using the same tani-otoshi technique against her opponent to reach the Grand final. 

Accordingly, she performed against Brazil’s Katelyn Quadros. And, that was the first Brazilian to win the Olympic medal in an individual sport. Now, Shemesh claimed the gold this time with great success. 

Moreover, Lasha Shavdatuashvili achieved about four medals at European Championships in 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2020.

Lasha Shavdatuashvili presented her comments after the achievements in these sports. He said that every achievement meant a lot to him. Although, it was the Olympics or the World’s Judo Championships, every final was important to him.

Then, he expressed the feelings saying: 

 “It’s an incredible feeling to be on the podium, to see your hard work pay off, I’m always fighting for victory, and it’s incredible to do this at home”.
